In 1988, Star Textiles Company was founded in Hong Kong to mainly to import and export textiles made from natural fibers. A branch office was set up in Shenzhen in 1992 with the additional responsibility as the final quality checkpoint for all goods. This was followed by setting up of a warehouse with a storage capacity of more than 20,000 sq. feet. In order to upgrade the management of the company in line with the company's expansion, Star Enterprise (HK) Company Limited, a fully owned subsidiary was set up in June 1994. A few years later, in 1999 the company set up its own spinning mill in Hunan Province, China.

In 2003, we opened 2 new offices in Mainland China : Shenzhen Star Textiles Co., Ltd. and Hunan Star Textiles Mill Co, Ltd. (Suzhou branch). In the same year, we bought an industrial park spread over 100,000 sq. m. and started a new weaving mill in Hunan province under the name of Hunan Star Textiles Mill Co., Ltd. There, we have more than 200 modern rapier and dobby looms and a workforce of 100 employees.”

Woven products are an essential part of everyday living. As our living standards gradually progress with time, people in the millennium are no longer just satisfied with simple food and clothing. They are becoming more and more concerned about their living environment too. Therefore, in order to improve the environment in which we live and to ensure a place for future generations, we have taken on the important task of research and development of environmentally products. This forms the basis of founding for Star Huabo Biodegradable Technologies Co., Ltd. After more than 3 years of hard work, we have successfully developed a series of environmentally-friendly products that is patented and meets global standards.

In order to maintain the drive for development, the company came to realize the importance of diversification. Thus, in 1996, the company joined with several other companies in the industry and set up a factory in China and Taiwan producing various types of nonwovens and related products.

By the end of 2004, our products have been sold and distributed to many countries including USA, Canada, Brazil, U.K., France, Italy, Australia, China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. Our annual sales for various types of textile products exceed 5,000 tons and for the past 3 consecutive years, we were the largest exporter of linen yarns (Source: China customs published data).”
